16 videos that register individuals following instructions on exercise postures. These instructions are based on the neutral posture of the French military that Michel Foucault describes in Chapter Four of his work Discipline and Punish (1975). These videos aim at studying how each individual interprets and reacts differently to the same instruction.
Dieciséis videos simultáneos que registran diferentes individuos siguiendo una serie de instrucciones de postura. Estas instrucciones están basadas en la postura neutra del militar francés que Michel Foucault describe en el capítulo Cuerpo dócil, en su obra Vigilar y Castigar (1975). El video pretende estudiar como cada individuo interpreta y/o reacciona de una manera diferente a la misma instrucción.

THE PROJECT IN VALPARAISO:
P. Abalos was invited to show the video INSTRUCCIONARIO in the Gallery BAJ (Balmaceda Young art of Valparaíso). The artist arrived at the city a few weeks before the opening of the exhibition to record videos to incorporate in it. This is how she projected the video Instruccionario in the city and recording the passersby who stopped to follow the instruccions of the video series. Finally the exhibition consisted in these videos projected and the video that they had followed.
Paula Abalos recibió la invitación de mostrar su obra INSTRUCCIONARIO en la galería BAJ de Valparaíso (Bamaceda Arte Joven). La artista llegó unas semanas antes a la ciudad para incorporar algo de esta misma para la exhibición. Es así como proyectó el video en la ciudad y registró con su cámara de video a los transeúntes que se detenían a seguir la serie de instrucciones del video. Finalmente la exposición consistió en los registro realizados en Valparaíso y el realizado anteriormente.
